Acting On Inspiration
by Ron Tatar
Good words are something actors love. I have always liked finding quotes, thoughts and sayings and sharing them with people I thought might enjoy them. Each month I will share some words that have inspired me, given me understanding and helped me keep things in perspective when times were rocky.
"You think your pains and heartbreaks are unprecedented in the history of the world, but then you read. It was books that taught me that the things that tormented me were the very things that connected me with all the people who were alive, or who have ever been alive."
"About ninety per cent of the things in our lives are right and about ten percent are wrong. If we want to be happy, all we have to do is to
concentrate on the ninety per cent that are right and ignore the ten percent that are wrong. If we want to be worried and bitter and have stomach
ulcers, all we have to do is to concentrate on the ten per cent that are wrong and ignore the ninety per cent that are glorious."
A lover came to the dwelling of the Beloved and asked to be admitted.
"Who is there?" the Beloved asked.
"I am here," the lover answered.
The Beloved refused to admit the lover. After wandering in grief and longing for years, the lover returned to the Beloved and begged to be admitted. "Who is there?"
"You alone are there," the lover responded. The door opened.
