Be A Zombie in Hazmat J's Downtown Shoot Sunday the 25th
Posted: May 7, 2008
Attention horror fans!
This is our last big zombie day for Hazmat J, until we begin production on the third episode, Doin' It With Stiles, several months later.
This will be a fun day complete with gut-ripping, car bashing, Hazmat chasing, and frightened newsmen. We're recreating a scene from Zombabies, but with a very new, comical approach to it. If you were in the alley scene in Zombabies, your participation in this scene would help SO much.
We need at least 40 zombies for this day! Bring a friend!
We are meeting in the alley between 6th and 7th, on Brazos, right across from the Driskell. Parking is free on Sundays, so parking shouldn't be a problem for anyone. We expect make-up to be done by 10:00 a.m., and to shoot until 3 p.m. We will have plenty of bottled water and food.
Please RSVP to let us know if you're available. This way, we can keep a tally for how many meals will need to be provided.
Thanks to everyone who helped make the battle at the Capitol a success. That was definitely a fun day, to say the least . If you were a part of the Capitol shoot, it'd be great to have you back for the alley shoot, too!
Thanks everyone,
Justin Warren
Director

Synopsis
Britney is pregnant. See, there was this party. In a spirit of fun and fancy free and whore-ishness, she decided to have sex with four different guys at that party: Travis, the community college student who divides his time between his one class and seducing high school girls, Marcus, the wanna-be rapper but current Verizon employee that talks a lot of game, as long as his girlfriend isn't around. Brett, a reservist, recently returned from Afghanistan who uses his military status for sympathy, and Jerry, the god-fearing church youth group intern.
None of this was good news to Britney's overbearing, steadfastly catholic, lawyer of a mother, Mrs. Parker. Nor would it be good news to Britney's father, Mr. Parker, that is if he hadn't given up on life long ago, and didn't spend his days in his bathrobe drinking and wishing Mrs. Parker would give him back some portion of control over his life. Mrs. Parker decides that rather than just have them take simple DNA tests, she would like to meet the four boys, and destroy them (or their spirits, at least). She invites them over to the Parker residence and interrogates them one by one as only a lawyer would. Only, they're not as intimidated, or as cooperative as she would like.
We are seeking actors for the following roles:
BRITNEY PARKER- about 18, White
MARCUS – early 20s, Black
JERRY – early 20s, White
BRETT- mid 30s, White
MRS. PARKER – Mid to late 40s, White
MR. PARKER- Late 40s, White
PASTOR TIM- late 30s, White - Youth Pastor at a big church. Less concerned with ministry and more concerned with being cool and playing golf.
LATISHA- early 20s, Black - Girlfriend of Marcus. She comes in near the end and busts up the scene. She isn't afraid to let her opinion be heard.

Need some cars for our movie
Posted: April 24, 2008
We're about to start filming our next movie. This one is an action-adventure flick that will release thru Water Bearer Films in 2009. I wrote this great script. Unfortunately I wrote this great script that requires a bunch of cars. Whoops. Please help.
Here's what we need:
An old junker car, barely breathing. June 7th only.
A 4 door sedan, American made car. May 19 and June 4th.
A gangster car. Could be a Lincoln, could be a tricked out car, could be a Mercedes. Lots of possibilities here. Films May 18, May 19 and June 5.
A rich guy's car. Could be anything. Films June 5 and June 6.
A government vehicle. White. Could be a jeep, could be a 4 door, could be an SUV. May 18, May 20, June 2 and June 3.
No chase scenes in the cars. No cars going over cliffs. No cars smashing into other cars. No exploding cars. We'll return your car in the same pristine condition as when we borrowed it.
Please help me find these vehicles.
-Paul
PS. Thanks for the suggestions for a tour bus. We got one!

Crew Call for Independent Film
Posted: April 24, 2008
Waiting Rooms, a feature-length independent film, is looking for dedicated crew members. We will film in Austin during the first three weeks of June, and will need a talented crew for production (and a few immediately for pre-production).
We are hiring for the following positions:
Hair Stylist
*Makeup Artist
Location Scouts
Key Grip
Lighting Technician
Sound Mixer
Boom Operator
Camera Assistant
3rd AD
Production Assistants
Runners
There is a very limited budget, and our crew positions are largely unpaid, with the primary exception being those that need to pay for their supplies (such as the makeup artist). We will provide on-set experience, meals, credit, and an exciting work atmosphere.
*Makeup Artist - this film takes place over a long time line. Several characters will age considerably; one loses a battle with cancer. We need someone with experience aging, particularly with prosthetics. We will find a way to compensate the right person.
Please contact PantheonCrew@gmail.com with resumes and questions.

Auditions for 'Entre Lineas' (in between lines) MFA thesis film project
Posted: April 22, 2008
Seeking Mexican-American actress for supporting role “Johanna” between 20-25
Must speak & understand English and Spanish
Production Dates: May 31 to June 12
Location: El Paso, TX & CD. Juarez, Chihuahua, Mexico
Directed by: Maru Buendia-Senties winner of the Cary Grant Film Award 2007 Princess Grace Foundation-USA
Professional Mexican actors like Hector Bonilla are participating in the project.
A slap to the face, “Entre Lineas” is a reality check about the Mexican-American border that conveys the riveting lifestyle of its people and how their stories get lost in translation by the media. This film defies the popular trend of border films about immigrants, femicides, or drugs, and shows the culture and traditions of the forgotten sides of these cities as never before seen, as it takes the audience into a unique journey of cultural crossroads. “Entre Lineas” will show the border as a place where cultures and ethnicities mix and sometimes collide. But it will ultimately show we are all human and in mixed communities like the border, there are moments when people can look past their differences and one human is willing to make the ultimate sacrifice for another.
Transportation, lodging, and meals are paid for. Copies of DVD and poster after post-production will be provided December 2008.
If interested please contact me at:
me.buendia@gmail.com Attach a headshot and curriculum. I’ll contact interested people with the date and place of the audition.
Travel dates will be discussed during the audition.
